Background

On Friday, February 10, 2006 Saskatchewan’s first formalized angel investment network was announced in Saskatoon and Regina. Positioned as “a unique, new provincial organization that will connect entrepreneurs with angel investors”, SAINT was introduced to a combined audience of more than 200 interested onlookers.

Saskatchewan Angel Investor Network – branded under the clever moniker of SAINT – was established as a result of the TechAction Plan, an initiative of Saskatchewan Advanced Technology Association (SATA) and was originally governed by a Steering Committee, including:

  • Lanis Anthony, CCINC Group of Companies – Capalyst™
  • Dale Botting, Botting Leadership & Development Corporation
  • David Brundige, McCrank Stewart Johnson Law Firm
  • Mike Grace, President, Kingsmere Capital Corporation
  • Adrian Legin, Executive Vice-President - Operations and E-Business, CONEXUS
  • Dale Lemke, President, Display Systems International
  • Ravi Maithel, President, Clevor Technologies Inc.
  • Doug Richardson, McKercher McKercher & Whitmore
  • Marie Savostianik, Community Innovation Facilitator, Prairie Centre for Business Intelligence
  • Greg Yuel, PIC Investment Group Inc.

Designed to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and investors, the focal point of the organization is a dynamic and interactive web-based environment. With the growth of its membership, network and resources, SAINT has now become the province’s foremost market- and meeting-place for entrepreneurs and angel investors to explore new business opportunities.
